How We Verify Our Data
Where the prices and nutrition on this site come from, how disagreements between sources are settled, and what we refuse to guess. This site covers 297 Taco Bell items across 412 menu listings.
Prices: sampled from several listings, never copied from one
Taco Bell does not publish a national price list — each restaurant sets its own prices — so there is no single official figure to copy. Instead, every price in our dataset was sampled from multiple independent published menu listings (up to four per item). The headline figure on an item page is the middle sampled price, and where the listings disagreed we kept the full range: it is shown as the item's "sampled range" so you can see the spread for yourself. One large aggregator was dropped from the source set entirely after its Taco Bell prices proved stale. Sampled prices are re-checked monthly, and the "Prices verified October 2026" stamp on every data page moves only when a check has actually run.
Nutrition: transcribed from the official calculator data
Nutrition values start from Taco Bell's own published nutrition information. We transcribed 230 full nutrition labels from the official calculator data (as published via Nutritionix) and matched them against the catalog: 185 listings matched a label, filling 1,170 previously empty label cells — fat, sodium, fibre, sugars and the rest of the panel you see on item pages. Values are transcribed, never calculated by us; where a label does not exist for an item, the missing fields stay missing.
Ingredients: the published statements, item by item
Item pages also carry the item's full ingredient statement, component by component, exactly as published. The statements come from Taco Bell's published data via Nutritionix and were collected in October 2026; the first pass covers 61 items — the core tacos, burritos, quesadillas, breakfast and Cantina Chicken lines. An item whose statement has not been collected yet simply shows no ingredients section: like every other value on this site it is absent rather than approximated, and coverage grows with later data passes.
The verification pass: 67 disagreements, settled one by one
Merging the labels surfaced 67 rows (41 items) where the catalog figure and the official label disagreed by 40 calories or more. Each one was investigated individually rather than averaged or waved through:
- 61 were pairing errors, not real disagreements. The merge had matched a row to the wrong variant's label — a different size, or a "dirty" drink build instead of the plain one. Those fills were reverted to the row's originally documented values.
- 4 were genuine disagreements about the same item (the sausage Breakfast Crunchwrap, Cantina Chicken Bowl, Grande Toasted Breakfast Burrito and Veggie Bowl). The official calculator label won, and its full panel replaced the older figures.
- 2 could not be settled from the available evidence (Chicken Strips and the Dragonfruit Freeze). Those items keep their pages, but the disputed calories are shown as unavailable until a source settles them. We would rather show a gap than a guess.
Allergens: partial coverage, labelled as such
Allergen data is compiled from published allergen information, and coverage is still partial: four labels are recorded so far (milk, eggs, wheat and soy). An item with no allergen record is labelled "not recorded" — never allergen-free — and every allergen page carries the cross-contamination warning that matters in a real kitchen.
Printable charts: the same data, one click
The official site keeps its nutrition PDF behind interactive tooling. Ours are direct downloads, generated from this same dataset at every build: the nutrition chart (PDF) and the allergen chart (PDF), linked from the nutrition and allergen hubs. Because they are generated, they can never drift from the pages.
Update cadence
Prices are re-sampled and re-checked monthly. The full dataset — prices, nutrition and allergens — is refreshed quarterly, and sooner when Taco Bell launches or retires items. When a check changes a figure, the item page changes with it; nothing here is allowed to quietly go stale.
What we never do
- Invent a value. A missing price, calorie count or allergen record is displayed as missing.
- Average two disagreeing sources into a plausible-looking number.
- Estimate, except on the secret-menu pages — where the estimate is computed from the real component items and labelled "estimated" in the open.
- Pretend to be Taco Bell. This is an independent information site; the full disclaimer is on the Disclaimer page.
Frequently asked questions
Are these Taco Bell's official prices?
No — Taco Bell publishes no national price list. Every price here is a sampled figure from published menu listings, shown with its sampled range where sources differ, and your local restaurant sets its own price.
Why is a value missing on some items?
Because we could not verify it. When published sources disagree materially and the evidence cannot settle which is right, the disputed value is shown as unavailable rather than guessed — two items currently sit in that state.
How do I check one specific restaurant's price?
Use the official store locator and menu on tacobell.com for a single store, or check in store. This site gives you the sampled national picture and the range to expect.
